Wonderful pictures. You've captured the light and the charm of the place. It was a glorious day while we were in the gardens. Who would have thought it could have been such a downpour at the start of our visit?

I expect it's true. Napoleon took scholars and archaeologists to Egypt, but I don't suppose his soldiers shared in his enthusiasm for ancient civilisation.

I see shades of the Trevi Fountain there. Marble is an amazing material for sculpting, isn´t it? The fluidity of the body of the nude woman to the right in the second picture is wonderful. This is lovely. Thank you!
