Storm Ciaran Blows Through

 Storm Ciaran has been doing a lot to advance the cause of autumn, stripping off leaves and branches and dumping them in the street. We had a severe weather warning and Ailz said I shouldn't go down to the beach in case a big wave swept me away, but what's the point of moving to the sea if you stay inside whenever it puts on a show? A fair bit of beach had been chucked up onto the promenade overnight, but by the time I got down there, mid-morning, the tide was out and the waves were lively but not mountainous.

I think they got this one wrong- it tracked over to the continent and now appears to be hammering down through Italy.

It was breezy and wet here inland but nothing more than that.

This morning the sun is shining and I've hung a load of washing out,

However, a really heavy looking clump of cloud is heading our way and should overshadow us tomorrow.
