Work In Progress

 Peter is still working on the downstairs toilet. He may finish today but I doubt it.

Bo and a mate are painting the house on the outside. As I write I'm hearing one of them going scrape, scrape, scrape at a window frame. It would be good if they could finish before the Siberian weather front blows in at the weekend.

A Conversation- Of Sorts

 Matthew's mother was very methodical in her reading. The book I've just picked off the shelf to read myself contains an insert that details the history of her experience with the title. First she read a copy she'd borrowed from Woking library, then she bought herself a secondhand copy from Amazon, hoping it wouldn't contain underlinings in biro- and was pleased when she received it to find it didn't contain any underlinings at all. 

It feels like she and I are having a conversation.

I'm sorry we never met, sharing, as we do, an interest in what is inaccurately called "the Afterlife". Of course her curiosity has been satisfied now.

I wonder what she's up to.
