Angus

When you name a storm- as we've recently started to do- it becomes a person- with the outline of a character. Angus, for example, who is currently lumbering across the landscape, is clearly a  very large Scotsman- or a bull- or perhaps a Scottish minotaur.

Enough...

I need to go out and see whether the edge of his flapping plaid has done damage to any of our brittle, old trees.

It seems to have settled down here since this morning.

Weather can be so local. When we lived in Oldham we frequently enjoyed quite different weather from Manchester, 7 miles away.

Hills make all the difference. We're on high ground here (not very high) but our weather can be different from the weather in the nearest small town- which is lower.
