My mother is 94 today. "Too old," she says.

The weather has turned cold. I think this must be due to the "arctic plume" the forecasters have been warning us against.

Here's a picture of Ailz with her pot. It has its uses; if she's lying in bed it becomes a shelf to rest her kindle on.

It's much more convenient. It has velcro fastenings and can be taken off if she needs a scratch.

I assumed 'pot' was a typo in your previous post - not a term I'd heard before! Did she get to choose the colour?

I think "pot" is the correct term- or at least the one the nurses use.

Ailz says she just got lucky with the colour. She wasn't given a choice.

She didn't have an accident or anything like that. She's had bad arthritis in her thumb for ages and the surgeon took out one of the bones with the object of making the joint usable again.
