I've spent my life believing I didn't like blackcurrants but I was eating them off the bush yesterday and they were delicious. I believe my former misapprehension had a lot to do with a nasty, syrupy stuff called Ribena.

Hm! Maybe I should give them another try sometime. After all, mass agriculture does turn out some foul stuff, like "tomatoes" that resemble tomatoes very closely in appearance, whilst carrying about as much of the flavor as McDonald's burgers do of their supposed origins. There are some good ones to be found, though (of the former) - Sainsbury's Vittoria are quite tasty, and Ocado offer some Datterinis from Sicily, by Natoora, which are superb.

And then there's the wonder of peas straight from the pod, from the garden.. =:9

I mostly avoid tomatoes these days. They're rarely worth eating.

I didn't think I liked courgettes until I tasted home-grown ones.

I love Ribena though. Toast and Marmite and a mug of hot Ribena = classic comfort food.

I Love toast and Marmite but I'd want to accompany them with a nice cup of tea.
