Listen To Me
Sep. 5th, 2012 10:59 amI like chiming clocks- in principle- but they can be a pain at night. If you're already finding it hard to sleep their "Ding, ding, ding" translates into "Listen to me, listen to me, listen to me." I had that happen a night or two back. Clock struck eleven and I thought "Just another hour before it strikes twelve." Which meant I was all keyed up waiting for it to strike twelve. After twelve I was waiting for it to strike one and after one I was waiting for it to strike two. That was when I beat the jinx. Briefly. Next time I checked my bedside clock the time was two thirty and I thought "Oh good, I've been asleep." And then I thought "Only half an hour until it strikes three."
We let it wind down- and left it that way for couple of days- but first thing this morning Ailz wound it up again. I was out in the yard feeding the rabbits when I heard "Ding, ding ding..." Oh, great!
