I Wish I Had Other Things To Write About

Now that he's no longer at death's door the doctors and nurses who saved his life have become the enemy. "They're messing me about". He was close to insufferable yesterday afternoon- swinging between grumpiness and teary self-pity- and, according to report, he was even worse in the evening. This morning we fielded an hysterical phone call from my mother-in-law, all strung out because a procedure she thought was being done today (after which he could come home) has been fixed for tomorrow instead. She's afraid he'll throw a strop- as indeed he may. He's always been a devil for making those around him pay for his discomfiture.

You'd think people would prefer to develop a peaceful attitude as they age. I guess that's not always true.

No-one has ever called him on his bratty behaviour, so he has simply carried on.
