Chilblains

Ailz has chilblains. I thought that's what they were- and now her podiatrist confirms it. I have them too, I think, though I haven't had them diagnosed. Chilblains are caused by nerves getting themselves frozen to death, so we need to work harder at keeping our feet warm.

We spend much of the day in a room with an unreconstructed wood floor. Very picturesque, very draughty. I've imported a mat from the front room (where it's not needed) to cover up some of the gaps between the boards.

Yup, if it's cold enough, I have to wear socks AND booties, AND get some of those foot-warmer packets. . .

This has been a hard winter. We need to stock up with socks and boots before the next one comes along.
