We shouldn't eat at Ikea- Ailz is always poorly afterwards- but it's hard to resist their prices. Yesterday  they had duck on the menu for under £6.00.

We bought an iron at Sainsbury's: one of their Basics models. It cost roughly as much as the duck. We gave our old one to Odi on the understanding she'd come round sometimes and do some ironing for us- and then she moved away.

We're trying to keep our food shopping below £50 a week. 'Taint easy, what with prices rising all the time. The cheap orange juice I have for breakfast just went up 12p.

We've found that the produce prices at the Asian supermarket are 50% lower than at the U.S. chains. So we're eating a lot of fresh produce these days.

We could save money by going to markets and Asian stores. The trouble is it's so much easier to go to the supermarket- and we have limited energy.

I love duck, but fear I should fare poorly as well. Grease doesn't agree me with quite like it used to.

Ailz had her gall bladder removed a few years back- and needs to be careful about fatty foods.

I remember my grandmother, before and after they removed hers, and I fear I may have to give up my gall bladder, as well. Aging isn't much fun, sort of a waiting game, to see what fails next.
