Further To Yesterday's Post
Oct. 27th, 2011 02:03 pmCanon Giles Fraser- who welcomed the protesters to St. Paul's when they first showed up- and told the police to back off- has resigned from the office of Canon Chancellor of the cathedral- presumably to distance himself from everything that has happened since. Good for him! l love it when a person resigns on a question of principle. It's something that happens all too rarely.

Date: 2011-10-27 02:26 pm (UTC)Having now read up on the situation: I am sorry they've lost him, because he sounds like exactly the sort of person who should be around St. Paul's, but it is honorable of him. I hope somewhere else in the church knows how to appreciate him.

Date: 2011-10-27 04:14 pm (UTC)Why "bastard"?
It's not that he was (and, really, remains) a Trot.
Date: 2011-10-27 04:43 pm (UTC)It's that, whilst pi-jawing incessantly from the Left and denouncing 'money-changers in the temple', the bugger is the most naked and incessant self-publicist ever to boost his ego and his prospects by tuft-hunting and seeking place and preferment.
