Flu Shots

I qualify for a flu-shot on the strength of being a carer. Ailz was called in for hers this morning and I agreed to have one too at the reception desk. I'm phobic and it saves a lot of anticipatory angst if I can kid myself I'm not going to have one until the very last moment.

The nurse apologised for the needles being blunt, but, honestly, I barely felt a thing.

We had ours last week. Manolo, with his heart issues, is a high risk case so he gets one every year. I do, too...out of solidarity.

As Ailz's carer It's sort of my responsibility not to come down with the flu and leave her high and dry. :)

I had some kind of booster shot earlier this year and was surprised at the improvement in needle technology. I literally felt nothing.

I hadn't thought of that. I've always assumed that needles were needles were needles, but I suppose they must be improving them all the time.

My twice-weekly allergy shots have pretty well inured my to needles at this point.

I never feel them either. Even if I did I'd rather have the shot than a severe case of flu like I used to get, sometimes lasting three weeks.

I got lucky last year. I dodged the shot and also dodged the flu- but that's hardly a responsible way to live.
