Humid

One of our smoke alarms just went off for no apparent reason. We stood and looked up at it and Ailz wondered whether atmospheric humidity would be enough to trigger it.  I closed a door to keep the damp air from getting at it and it stopped.

Yesterday was damp (but not actually raining) and warm.  I put a chair out in the garden and read a bit and slept a bit. I don't suppose I'll be doing much more of that this year.

We have an alarm just outside our bathroom door. I prefer to take my shower with the door open, because I actually don't like a steamy bathroom and the fan never clears it enough, but I had to stop because the alarm was going off from the humidity.

I had just boiled a kettle. If the steam were moving in the right direction it could have tipped the balance on what was already a humid morning.

What else is so lovely but a day reading and sleeping in the garden.

Yes. I'm going to be missing those days now that winter is approaching.
