The Places Where They Didn't Riot

I'm curious about the parts of the country that didn't riot. As far as I'm aware, there was no serious trouble in the North East, nor in any northern city apart from Manchester and Leeds, nor in any Welsh or Scottish city.

Does this tell us anything?

I thought Leeds and its environs would be rich pickings but apart from Huddersfield f**k all happened. This is said to be down to "good community links" I am yet to be convinced. Geordieland? Few "ethnics" but a lot of poverty. Cardiff kicked off, a little in Glasgow. It is not size, look at Gloucester.

maybe kids grow up feeling loved more there?

you might take a look at the schools general teachings

here the money for the community center
went into a ugly steel statue
noone wanted to babysit a mass of kids

think the kids are too busy getting drunk & pregnant
away from the towns/villages on the farm or out fishing?

I don't know. It's as if a line had been drawn across the map. Below it you had riots, above it hardly any. Are the schools different above that line? I doubt it.

That could be a factor. The Scots (perhaps) have less reason to hate their government.

It doesn't explain the Geordies, though.

i understand that there was the beginnings of one in Cardiff - but the police were somehow forewarned - that's the remainder of the police that weren't sent into England -
