Anish Kapoor

Manchester City Art Gallery has a small retrospective of the work of Anish Kapoor. I've never rated him before, but that's because I've only seen reproductions; when you're in there with his stuff- and trying to work out how many dimensions it occupies- it's different.  Kapoor's bigger works are very expensive to produce- but the most effective piece here is the simplest- a rounded bump protruding from the gallery wall; look at it head-on and close-to and your brain really doesn't know how to process what it's seeing.
