Nice church.
Can you tell me anything about the last gravestone?

It's very thick- and has carving on both sides. On the front there's an angel's head with some text- and on the reverse there's this shrouded figure. I'm thinking it's very early- possibly late 17th century. There are several stones of the same style in the churchyard. I've never seen anything quite like them before.

Thanks. Very interesting gravestones. I have not seen anything like these, either.

In as many churchyards as I've been in the UK, I have never seen a gravestone like that last one. Very odd. Was there no inscription?

I like how the dog survived on the tomb inside the church but the legs of the deceased didn't.

There's an inscription on the other side. Here lyeth the body of whoever-it-is. No date unfortunately.

The chap with no legs is Sir Nicholas Montgomery, d. 1494.

Whoa! I love the last photo. You really have an eye for the primitive, pagan figures.

Really strange, isn't it! I look at a lot of gravestones, and I've never seen anything like it.

Okay, the one with the light whiting out the church window is wonderful.

Thanks. Interior shots rarely work for me; my equipment just isn't sophisticated enough; but, for some reason that one came out a treat.
