My daughter "borrowed" most of my pictures of ancient monuments, so what I'm left with are a few images of modern Cairo.

What I remember is the smog, and the poverty, and the people who lived inside tombs in the graveyards because there was nowhere else to live.

Cairo was- and probably still is- a pretty grim place.
