Adams informs us that he used to be landlord of "one of the few remaining British pubs in the area" (it being a real shame how British pubs have been elbowed aside by all the Pakistani, Chinese and Nigerian pubs that have been appearing recently). One knew not to drink there if one was West Indian/African. This was nearly 40 years ago. Contributory negligence - I use this pub as an example. No black person asks to get kicked to death but what does one expect if going to such a venue? Like the girl who cried rape after returning to a man's apartment, stripping off and having foreplay then deciding against it.
