The original projection- not that I ever really believed it- was for the work to be finished in six weeks. At the start of week seven we have two joiners on site- one laying laminate flooring in the bedrooms, the other assembling units in the kitchen. A third guy is gofering between them.

Week seven is the week our tenure on the storage unit runs out, which is why we're bringing stuff back into the house. The problem is finding anywhere to stash it.

I don't think we'll be bothering with a Christmas tree this year.

I'm sure it will all be lovely when it's finished and well worth all the stress. It's just hard to cope with the disruption while all the work is in progress.

Who needs a Chrismas tree anyway? Some years I have one, some I don't bother, and I've given up buying a real one. I've used an artificial one for many years now.

We have an artificial one which is currently in storage- at least I think it is.

I just string lights around any more, sans tree -- and that's what I like best anyway. :)

Sounds good.

I don't suppose we'll be doing anything this Christmas except trying to get the house back into shape.
