A Mishap We Could Have Avoided

We went out for a walk yesterday afternoon with Ailz on her new mobility "scooter"- which is a kind of wheelchair with attitude. We had reached just about the furthest point on the planned circuit- near the top of the ridge on the far side of the valley-  when the scooter broke down. We tried everything we could think of and none of it worked, so we rang Ailz's dad and he came and rescued us. Later- when we were safely back home- Ailz rang the people we bought the machine from and their switchboard guy drew our attention to the restart button. We pushed it and the lights came on again. What had happened was the motor had over-heated on the hill and needed a rest. And the moral of the story is "always read the handbook first".
