Update

Carl just knocked on the door and asked to be given a coffee. "She's doing her essay,"  I said,  through gritted teeth.  But then she sings out from upstairs, "I've finished."

In the event she resumed work on the essay at 3.00. and completed it an hour later. I needn't have worried.

I get very protective. Like a watchdog. Like a dragon.

I have often thought about Ailz. She is a lot smarter than I am, and if anyone could have done a 4,000 word essay on deadline I am certain one would have to go pretty far to find someone smarter than Ailz. Me? I started projects like that weeks ahead of time and worked on them right up to the night before, polishing, polishing. It achieved the good grade, but put a lot of my life on hold while the project was in progress.
It looks like Ailz has the gift for being able to handle more than one thing at a time. How fortunate!
