I wanted to know the secret so I became a priest. I found out that the secret was a casket full of air. Perfumed air. So I became another sort of a priest. Always a priest. Always surrounded by an aura of benevolence and wisdom- hiding in the cloud.

Wisdom was my junk food, was my junk. I dispensed it with gracious hands. "Here, my dear, have some junk. The secret is there is no secret." "Thank you, your endearing holiness."

Carnival time.

Working as that other sort of priest, I prayed for Understanding. Yes, I knew what I was doing; I was praying to Binah, the Great Cunt in the Sky, Mrs Womb-Tomb-Doom, Creator and Destroyer. Undo me if you must but just let me KNOW.

And then, rattle-bang-flop- out the funhouse door. No more distorting mirrors, no more scary clowns, no more dancing skellibobs.

Oh look. Just look at the....

[Laughs] Another slip of the typing finger. It must be all these numbers we are talking, they just muddle everything. Stockholm was a year ago. I told someone I would follow him to the end of the earth. And he showed me that the end of the earth was the Venice of the North.

Was it magical? Yes. Magical and wondrous and beautiful and perfect and one of the greatest trips I have made. Was it worth it? Of course! Was I successful in my attempt to make an ice prince see that he could learn to love a woman of equatorial temperament? Of course not.

But heartbreak is where literature starts. Right there on the airplane, sailing through Monet skies and listening to Madame Butterfly, sobbing in my crackers, missing everything.

He is the Magnus I speak about in my entries. I will always say Sweden is the home of good things--Bond girls and Absolut. But there are things about it we could certainly do without, stone cold inflexibility and, of course, Abba. ;)

"Sweden is the home of good things"-

Don't forget Ingmar Bergman. I moderate the Ingmar Bergman Community. At the last count I think we had- ooh- four members. Or was it three?

I go and post there when- like Garbo- I vant to be alone.

Oh yes- Garbo- another good Swedish thing, and then there's the other I. Bergman and Bibi Anderson and Liv Ullman.....

Oh my god, I was going to say something about Ingmar Bergman and Greta Garbo, but I spaced it. You are absolutely right. There is a community here on LJ about it? How interesting! You must direct me to it so I may see the kind of mischief you are up to.

I don't know how to put links in comments (I'm sure it's simple but I just haven't figured it out) but if you go to my info page and look under communities and click on ingmar bergman you'll be transported there- as if by magic carpet. We could do with more members. Right now it's just me talking to myself.

Oh, here, let me offer you something good in return:

To put links, you write <*A href="address"*> but without the little *s. If it's something within LJ, like a user or community, you can write <*lj user="name"*>, again without the little *s.

Try it out and see the magic! Also, thanks for the heads up, I will check it out.
