Have Hat, Will Travel
Jul. 9th, 2004 11:47 pmApparently Around the World in 80 Days is dreadful. What a pity! I have very fond memories of the 1956 version with David Niven. I must have been 5 or 6 when I first saw it- and for months afterwards I wanted to BE David Niven and own a hot air balloon and a top hat.
Oh- and an Indian princess. Yes, even at 6 I had worked out that Indian princesses are a good idea.
It's a magical story. It almost tells itself. How could anyone fail with it?
But then again, this latest effort is a Walt Disney production....
