Stair Carpet

poliphiloThree men turned up for work yesterday morning; by lunchtime two of them had been laid low- either by the flu or the home-made pickle in the sandwiches they'd brought with them.
Which left just Karl.
Jonathan had started stripping the stair-carpet before retiring hurt. We could hardly leave the job part done and Karl had other, more skilled things to be getting on with, so I did it.
Stripping stair carpet sounds easy, but when there's a stair-lift bolted to the stairs it becomes really fiddly and time-consuming.
Which left just Karl.
