 Ailz came back from the tennis yesterday saying she was going to have to watch Wimbledon and so we needed a TV licence. Old folk like us- for whom TV is a necessity- used to get their TV licences free but one of our wicked recent governments cancelled this kindness and now we have to pay like everybody else. A couple of clicks of the mouse and we were legal- and I went immediately to the BBC website and watched an old episode of Dr Who- one of the transitional ones with David Tennant and Catherine Tate that filled the gap between Jodie Whittaker stepping down and Ncuti Gatwa becoming available. It was good to see them again- a little more creased than they were 15 years ago (is it really that long?) but just as energetic....

I had to Google to see who she was....
