poliphilo I have been collecting responisibilities at the Meeting House. None of them lobbied for.
I am in charge of the library- which hardly anyone uses. It looks impressive, though.
I am in charge of children and children's stuff. Ailz and I are stocking the children's corner with toys. We had a child visit yesterday- the clerk's two year old daughter and she got some mileage out of the dolls house. The dolls house was something we bought off a stall in Queensborough back in the day. It had served its turn with our grandkids and been moved to the attic. It belongs to the Meeting House now.
I am in charge of entertainments. Currently that means making sure there is cake provided for the the Area Meeting we're hosting Sunday week. Whoever booked the Meeting for the 10th hadn't reckoned that it was Mothering Sunday- and what will that mean for attendance remains to be seen. Anyway, I've put out a call for cake and if more shows up than gets eaten we have freezers....
I am in charge of flowers. I buy them in pots. When they finish flowering I plant them out..
My thinking in relation to all these responsibilities is "Build it and they will come."
