In Awe

 In awe of Terence McKenna. People throw him questions and he responds not only intelligently and fluently but poetically as well.  Wish I could talk like that. 

In awe of Alice Munro. Reading her, I keep thinking- "That's so true of human thoughts/feelings/behaviour; how come no one noticed it before?"

I think that very same thing every time I read Munro.

With so much modern writing I think, "This is very nice but there's nothing new in it." Not so with Munro.

I agree. I also feel that the 20th Century, for all its advances in ALL THE THINGS, Literature is often left off the list and yet the diversity, the depth, the breadth, the width, the sheer brilliance of the creative written word during those hundred years mark a massive movement in human expression and understanding of the condition.
