She told us about the troubling things she had on her mind and then she asked us how we were and we said, "Fine, fine..." And then I thought a bit and said, "Well, actually, not entirely" because Ailz has brachycardia and I have a bad back and it's only fair to level with our friend. It's called openness. It's called sharing.

Just so long as one doesn't go on and on about one's ailments...

I was looking round the circle later. Everyone in the group is over 60, everyone has medical issues. None of us has that much time left on the planet....

Ailz is going to a Chinese healer. She gets acupuncture, and cupping and burning mugwort and special herbal tea. The marks from the cupping she had yesterday are still there- great purply, prickly ovoids of angry skin.

And I was lying on the floor yesterday rocking from side to side because our friend who is a former gymnast and qualified masseur says this is how one puts one's back into alignment...

Oh, I just love symptoms 'cause you know, once a nurse, always a nurse. 😀

Bradycardia as a diagnosis depends upon one's age and physical condition, as I'm sure you and Aliz already know. The issue isn't necessarily the low heart rate; it's that the condition is often linked with arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats.) Does Aliz have those?

Also, if you can walk w/your back the way it is, you should walk. Walking for an hour or so regularly is really one of the best ways to relieve back pain.
