 Eastbourne in summer is full of beautiful young people. Mostly foreign, French and German, travelling in shoals. Eastbourne has a reputation as an old people's town- a place where you come to die. There's truth in this but it isn't the full picture.

Our friend Mags got onto a bus out at Langney- and the driver said, "You're a bit out of place, ain'tcha?" And she looked up and saw she was the only old person on board.

I think a fairly high proportion of older folks have been fearmongered into not going anywhere much and certainly not on public transport by Covid.
