We've finished the first phase of cataloguing the Meeting House library- the phase that involved us being actually present in the building- and having people dropping in and out- and this was such a positive experience that we're experimenting with having the building open every Thursday through the middle of the day- with no particular purpose except to see what happens- with Ailz and I volunteering to be on site from ten thirty till three. The first day went as we'd hoped. Three people dropped by, Ailz cooked lunch for everyone and in the afternoon we listened to part of a lecture about disability access. I think churches should be open at all reasonable times, so why not Quaker Meeting Houses...

This sounds like a great idea. The only problem I can see with it is that it might be difficult to get volunteers to be on site. It wouldn't be fair to expect you and Ailz to do it every week.

Was the lecture this year's Swarthmore lecture? I think I saw that it was now available and that the subject was disability. I must go and look for it.

Last year's talk was on YouTube, so I assume this one will be too.
