We're having a run of cold, bright days.
We went to Chichester for an exhibition at Pallant House. "Sussex Landscape: Chalk, Wood and Water". I wondered, as I have before, why the British modernists were so afraid of colour. The one exception- on this showing anyway- was the wonderful Edward Burra.
I read some of A Testament of Devotion by Thomas R Kelly. It's a Quaker classic. I tip my hat to him but he doesn't speak my language.
