Tandle Hill
Tandle Hill
The town in the middle distance is Rochdale- home of Gracie Fields and the Co-operative movement.

Funny you should mention Gracie Fields. On May Day (being a holiday) I decided to tackle a wooden box of old family photographsthat had been eaten by white ants. fortunately the photos themselves interested them less than the box. But among them were a fair number taken in Gracie Field's dressing room when she went to Durban. I'd better find out more about her, and perhaps i should scan some of the photos and put them in the LJ.

I'd be interested to see the photos.

I like Gracie's music but I think she was an obnoxious human being- very full of herself.

That is lovely. The framing of the pine branches in particular.

Thanks.

I've stolen that pine branch from one of the Impressionists or post-Impressionists, but I can't think which one.

More Tandle Hill--how far, do you suppose, can you see?

From the very summit you can see all the surrounding towns- Oldham, Rochdale, Manchester. I guess that's a radius of about ten miles.
