It's nearly Christmas so I'm wearing my pink trousers.

Last year I wore them on Hampstead Heath. I won't be doing that in 2020. The family get together in North London that was on the cusp of becoming traditional hasn't even been mooted. If we get to have a family meeting it'll be via Zoom.

One thing we did moot was having my sister and brother-in-law come over for lunch on Christmas Eve. We carried on mooting it until the middle of last week and then the portcullis came down.

I was discussing the CV19 rules with Julia this morning. They're complicated. There was a question as to whether Matt would be allowed to go visit his father in Surrey- and they checked online and found he will because he's his father's primary caregiver or something along those lines.

The whole country may go back into lockdown once the festivities are over.

I watched the two initial episodes of McKenzie Crook's Worzel Gummidge yesterday evening. I think they're good rather than very good, but I love the character- and how Crook has pulled it out from under the shadow of Jon Pertwee and made it his own. There's a third one being broadcast on Christmas Eve- featuring Shirley Henderson as Saucy Nancy- and that's something to look forward to.
