Today's our day out- and we went- as we normally do- to the farm shop in Hurst Green- and afterwards down to Rye, which was as empty as I've ever seen it. As from tomorrow- if the PM gets his way- this trip will be illegal, because by then the country will be divided into tiers (CV19 for the prevention of) with our county Kent in the top tier and Sussex- which is where Hurst Green and Rye are- in the one beneath- and all non-essential traffic across the boundary forbidden.

"I need to write about the restrictions," I said to Ailz, "If only so I can use the heading "Tiers of a Clown". "You think that's original?" she said. "It might be," I said. "I doubt it" she said. And she's probably right.

Anyway, it was a sunny day- and I took pictures. Here's one of St Mary's, Rye.

You have such beautiful churches.

We had traveling restrictions in the spring. I wasn't going anywhere much anyway but I know other people's lives were really hindered by them.
