This particular quality of light only lasted for a few minutes. If I hadn't rushed to get the camera I'd have missed out on it.

Nearly right. It actually translates as "Lover of all things".
Poliphilo is the protagonist of the visionary- and very peculiar- Italian renaissance "novel" Hypnerotomachia Poliphili- which I happened to be reading at the time I started blogging.
