Spring Has Been Put On Hold For A Day Or Two

I had hoped I'd done with body warmers for a season or two but the wind has switched from west to north east and I'm wearing one again. We've had brief falls of sleet and hail- and Ailz tells me that when my back was turned there was a flurry of snow. My daughter rang me from the field in Leicestershire round which she was walking the dog and cut the call short because her hands were frozen and she needed to stick them in her pockets.

About a week ago, we had snow that covered the ground and remained for a few hours, but it melted and now the grass is starting to green up. Our temperature is starting to get up close to the fifties now, so spring is coming. We had our first thunder and lightning yesterday.

We've had a very mild winter. Hardly any snow- and none that settled.

It looks like we are going to have an early spring. Last year at this time, we had a howling blizzard and a foot of snow. Currently, my lawn is greening up.

It makes it hard for people to stay home when it is so nice out. And the gas being so cheap right now adds insult to injury.
