These tiles came out of a building in Rye, are dated to the years 1275-89 and may be intended to represent Edward I (Longshanks) the king misrepresented (along with everyone else) in Mel Gibson's historical farrago Braveheart. They are currently housed in Rye's Ypres Tower Museum.

The mind of the planet takes a long, long time to change.

I checked what Wikipedia has to say about Michael Jackson- and it's still, basically treating him as a showbiz figure. The "allegations" are acknowledged but tacked onto adulatory paragraphs that reflect the publicity Jackson's people are still putting out- "King of Pop" and all that.

I predict that the emphasis will shift.

And eventually we'll look back and wonder how we ever allowed ourselves to be fooled by a man who did so very little to hide his predilections.

But will we be similarly taken in by the next guy who come along with a few nifty dance moves and a deep, deep love of children? I don't think so. It's painfully slow, but we're learning.
