Longshanks

These tiles came out of a building in Rye, are dated to the years 1275-89 and may be intended to represent Edward I (Longshanks) the king misrepresented (along with everyone else) in Mel Gibson's historical farrago Braveheart. They are currently housed in Rye's Ypres Tower Museum.

I believe there's a statue somewhere round there that's actually modelled on Gibson's wild highlander version of the character.

Judging by the photographs it's hideous.

There is- in a car park on the edge of town and it is utterly horrible.
