Buildings Of St Leonards

Last week we walked along the sea front at St Leonards- and marvelled. Yesterday we explored the hinterland and marvelled some more. People talk about the beauties of Bath but if you want neo-classical splendour and civility (and I do, I do) St Leonards matches it, building for building, park for park. Besides, Bath stinks of money and St Leonards doesn't.

James Burton, founder of St Leonards, is buried- with members of his family- under a pyramid in the small churchyard on the cliff above the parish church.
