Buildings Of St Leonards

Last week we walked along the sea front at St Leonards- and marvelled. Yesterday we explored the hinterland and marvelled some more. People talk about the beauties of Bath but if you want neo-classical splendour and civility (and I do, I do) St Leonards matches it, building for building, park for park. Besides, Bath stinks of money and St Leonards doesn't.

Decimus Burton should be added to the roster of great architects. He built vast amounts of urban housing- and all of it calculated to lift the spirits.
