Apparently- and this is the word of the hospital doctor we consulted yesterday- you can control a "benign natural tremor" with alcohol. So when people talk about taking a stiff drink to settle their nerves there's science behind it.
People are still working, there's traffic on the roads, there's no snow to muffle sound and yet a Christmas hush seems to have descended on the world. I suppose it must be a subjective thing because I experience it every year, no matter where I'm living.
