I said, "Am I right that you believe we should be thinking in terms of 'both/and' rather than 'either/or'?"
"Yes," he said, "Well put; that's my teaching in a nutshell."
"I've been reading a lot of Iris Murdoch," I said. "What do you think?"
"She's wonderful," he said, "Carry on reading her. And, by the way, what's your name?"
