Julia says her brother manages to grow perfect brassica in his East London garden because his area is totally free of slugs, bugs and caterpillars, also birds because there's nothing for them to eat- and the only living things that thrive are the rats and foxes- species so well-adapted to scavenging they hardly count as wildlife anymore. And why? Presumably because everybody- including the council- has fallen for the propaganda of the agrochemical companies and is permanently blitzing their green stuff with poison. He's happy about his cabbages but apart from that...

I hope not too, but if a lot of poisons are being sprayed about there may be problematic residues.
