What we were discussing was the up-coming trial of Jeffrey Epstein. Want to see the mighty put down from their seats and the humble and meek exalted? Well, pull up a pew.

Apparently the cops who broke into Epstein's apartment before he got back to the States found oh so very much hard evidence, including blackmail videos and a forged Austrian passport with Epstein's photo and a fake name. The 2000 pages of material from the lawsuit against Epstein's girlfriend are likely to add piquance, and perhaps also more details, to the rest. And since these are all new charges, Epstein can't claim double jeopardy (although his sewer rat of an attorney tried).

It should get pretty wild. I hope the guilty parties end up doing hard time.

Things have changed in the past decade. Last time round the lawyers and powerful friends were able to damp things down; this time I don't think they'll be able to.
