The Approach To Sovereign Harbour

Sovereign Harbour is a huge luxury development to the East of Eastbourne and the West of Pevensey. When you get to the heart of it it's all yachts and superyachts and nice restaurants (we ate in one of them and it was very good) and gated apartment blocks and notices telling you the streets are private- like Monaco with a different climate- but the spit of land that protects the approach is empty of people and the water of the approach is empty of boats- and it's all very pleasantly bleak and lonely.

Away from the marina with its cafes and restaurants it was a bit ghostly. I got the impression that a lot of the harbourside apartments are unoccupied for much of the time.
