Chancers

We had a letter from a property developer last week. I suspect all the neighbours did too. It was a very tentative approach which said, "we might be interested in building houses on your land and perhaps you'd be interested in talking to us"- or words to that effect. I'm treating it as junk mail. We've had a spin on that merry-go-round and I'm not hankering after another- not yet, anyway.

The plan for a new town development in our village fell through, but once that kind of a question mark has been raised over an area it stays there- hovering, faintly glimmering- and continues to draw the chancers.

All too many chancers hereabouts too and sometimes the local council lets them get away with it.
