When I got there I found Snowy had kicked open the gate to the donkey shed and was having a go at the ramshackle gate into the bottom field- where the ragwort is.
There was a wooden pallet standing against the wall of the shed. I forget how we came by it- and I had thought I might put it on the bonfire- and now I'm glad I listened to the voice that said "Don't, you might want it some day"- because it was just the thing I needed to reinforce the field gate and make it horse-proof.
