Hitchens On Trump

Peter Hitchens says of Trump that he's "the most brilliant politician since Princess Diana- not especially knowledgeable or intelligent, but cunning beyond belief." I would question the extent to which Trump calculates the effect he's having (and therefore quite how cunning he is) but I think the comparison with Diana is inspired.

He gets one thing dead wrong.

Trump is not a politician.

He wasn't but he is now. And his success is very largely down to his not observing the protocols- or even knowing they exist.
