Free Gift

The lightning-struck portions of next door's tree (now shorter than it was but still flourishing) have appeared at the side of our drive in the form of a huge pile of wood chippings- a free gift from Matthew who will- as the seasons advance- spread it across our flower beds. It makes the whole garden- you notice it as soon as you step through any door- smell resinous.
