Whatever it is I congratulate it on its sculptural qualities.

My mother would once have known what everything in the garden was but now she asks me- and though I find I know more than I thought I did I've never been a plantsman...

I suppose it might be something quite exotic. My parents were passionate gardeners.

That's a brilliant photo of a gorgeous flower!

My money would be on a rare type of rhody or azalea, or something closely related to those. But I could be wrong.

We have quite a few shrubs that are definitely rhodys and azaleas so it's quite possible this is part of that collection.
